Lobbying (engagement with lawmakers), capacity building (training of rural women advocates) and production and broadcasting of emerging threats, and infections via radio programme. The main components are advocacy, capacity building, community education and creating effective partnerships.  We know that working together is vital to creating positive change.  We value partnering with the communities we serve, their leaders, government programs and agencies, and implementing organizations. We work hard to ensure that the efforts we support have the endorsement of the relevant government ministries to maximize the likelihood of success and wider uptake of proven approaches.  Supporting central strategic planning to decentralize and devolve authority to the local level; ensuring that local authorities have sufficient skills, capacity and resources to implement that strategy; and providing direct support at the local level to staff and politicians to use these systems and identify practical ways to improve the delivery of services to citizens.
